Typically I paint with acrylics on unframed, gallery quality birch panels. The panel sides are painted black and look great as is; or we can discuss framing options for an additional charge.


Custom Pet Portraits are painted from a client-supplied photograph. Portraits are best when painted from a photo supplied by you because animals are more comfortable with people they are familiar with- thus giving a more natural look. The more photos the better! I only paint from a single photo, however, seeing several options helps when choosing the best photo to work from. For best results, photos should be in as high resolution as possible, in focus and include a clear shot of your pet's eyes.  


If you are interested in commissioning a portrait, send me an email with several photos of your pet. Include a bit about your pet and the approximate size painting you are interested in. I would love to hear some favorite stories to get a sense of your much loved pet's personality so that I can really capture that in the art!
